Ampeg Micro-VR is a compact powerhouse entirely capable of pumping its 200 watts of original Round Sound into a myriad on-stage and recording situation. It comes with an ample-but-not-overpowering 200 watts of power at 4 ohms. Tone adjustment is provided via the Ultra Mid control and the 3-band EQ. Balanced line out with pre/post and pad are also given. For recording sessions, the Ampeg Micro-VR has an Aux-Stereo input, which is mixed with the main input and sent to the headphone output. This feature allows the artist to listen in a click or guide the track simultaneously, record the direct signal from the "preamp-out" and remove the amplifier via a microphone.

Micro-VR has a switching power supply which keeps the weight low. The Micro Head consists of a silver front plate, the black cover, the chrome-plated corners, and the silver-blue faceplate. Regardless of its small dimensions, the head has a real Ampeg preamp and a strong 200-watt transistor output stage. For live applications, Ampeg Preamp controls include 15 dB pad, gain, bass, ultra-mid, treble, volume, and limiter defeat, allowing the musician to quickly and effectively find the desired sound.
