Gibson SG Special Faded Worn Cherry Electric Guitar reintroduced with a classic design that made it relevant, played and enjoyed shaping sound across generations and genres of music. This Gibson SG Special originated life in 1961 as the new and upgraded Les Paul. But, Les was not especially fond of the design which featured a thinner mahogany body, beveled edges and pointed points, so the guitar finally got a new name, The SG. Most SGs were finished in Worn Cherry, which was all the trend in the '60s.

Original SG Special was a mid-level instrument that presented all the features most guitarists wanted in terms of sound and playability without having to take on the next job to pay for it. This first 60's style SG Special has the vibe and tone heard on countless vintage rock recordings. A rich, slim-taper mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard are well recognized for fast, smooth playing. The pair P-90 pickups are remarked for their fat, snarl when driven and for their soft, sweetness when played decent. The SG Special is furnished with the 3-way toggle switch, hand-wired controls, and orange drop capacitors.
