PDP PDNY1804DS New Yorker 4 Pc Diamond Sparkle Drum Pack is perfectly designed to provide an upscale look and an open tone that is missing from many contemporary kits. The New Yorker's dense, all-poplar shells give a lot of breathing room in an ensemble, which tends to operate well for live funk, jazz, and hip-hop. This PDP New Yorker's shells are dense and built from solid poplar, which provides them a nice open tone that gives good effective feedback and responds to room features. The New Yorker's short size also gives it nice for traveling - you can comfortably fit the entire four-piece shell pack in a hatchback and yet have room for hardware. The PDP New Yorker started its life a decade ago as a compact DW Custom Shop kit. Its legacy of class performance lives on in PDP's hardware. Low-mass Teardrop mini lugs improve shell resonance for an energetic sound and fine threads. True-Pitch tuning rods allow for precise tuning.
A full battery of industry-standard Remo heads provides the PDP New Yorker a fabulous tone right out of the box. Drummers appreciated the smooth, subdued tones these carried out in the drums and feel they are a good opening place for drummers of all levels.
