It comes with 10-ply HVX maple shell is sensitive, crisp and cutting, able to deliver powerfully backbeats to your audience or into a microphone. The Triple-flanged steel hoops pack a deep pocket and hearty rimshot. These Performance Series snare drums start with DW's US-made, handmade HVX hard rock North America maple shells. This HVX grain orientation provides wood plies diagonally, vertically, and horizontally for satisfying and deep fundamental. Shells are treated in pressure mold (2600 PSI at 200°F) then quickly cool-tempered to crystallize the glue, enhancing resonance, roundness, strength. John Good's 60° bearing points ensure smooth playability, whatever your style. It also features a Fine-threaded True-Pitch tension rod enhancing tuning accuracy, with DW's magnetic MAG throw off locks snare wires in the on tenors or position them fully to exclude sympathetic buzz and DW branded Remo heads ensure great tuning and tone from day one.
