Epiphone Les Paul Standard features a solid mahogany body and a maple top. Les Paul Standard features a 14-degree headstock that gives you more pressure at the nut for more sustain with less tuning hang-ups caused by string-tree gadgets. It has a rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. The hand-set mahogany neck delivers outstanding resonance while medium-jumbo frets add smooth and sustained tone. Epiphone uses a double vacuum waxing process that ensures quiet operation, free from microphonic hum. The pickup is initially placed in a specific wax vacuuming system before the cover is placed on the unit to assure that the wax thoroughly sticks to the center of the pickup and solidifies all parts. After the cover is placed on, the pickup is given a second vacuum wax bath until the whole unit is saturated.

Les Paul Standard has the highest quality parts for the pickups including ABS plastic bobbins, 1010 Cold Rolled Steel pole shoes and pole screws, Alnico magnets and the finest magnet wire. Epiphone Les Paul Standard features solid hardware including locking Tune-o-Matic StopBar and a fully adjustable bridge. Epiphone Les Paul Standard features a nickel LockTone Bridge and StopBar Tailpiece combo that auto-locks the bridge and tailpiece in place which also results in improved sustain. The Epiphone Les Paul Standard uses 1-inch diameter potentiometers and all-metal toggle switches. Les Paul Standard includes Grover machine heads on the tuners for stability and longer life.
