The Ibanez E-Gen8 is presented by Herman Li specifically as it is, lives on stage, in the studio, right off-the-shelf without any changes. The 3-piece maple EGEN bolt-on neck has the high-speed Ibanez Wizard II form that presents Herman the playability he needs. A 24-fret rosewood fretboard is suitable oval inlays.

The Edge III bridge/tremolo design presents even more durability and energy under the most demanding playing requirements. Now in gold hardware for Herman's EGEN. The new Edge III is similar in construction and believes to the original Edge locking tremolo; however, it also highlights lower form fine-tuners inspired by the Lo-PRO Edge and huge new-design saddles.

The EGEN8 pickup force is active and ready for a wide range of sound and attack: V7 (H) neck, S1 (S) mid, and V8 (H) bridge. The Vintage 7 neck humbucker with a ceramic magnet is tight but bright, very effective for chording and swing. The SINGLE 1 in the middle region is legendary-sounding yet high output single coil with Alnico-5 pole pieces for even string output. It is designed to operate with humbuckers in the split position. The Vintage 8 bridge humbucker with alnico magnet is a warm yet understandable lead pickup with enhanced overtones.
